🪵 Phase 1 Journal: The Story So Far
🪐 Entry 1: The Mud and the Misery
The world dropped me right into the thick of a dark, murky swamp. It was a brutal spawn. The sun was going down fast, there wasn’t a single sheep in sight for wool, and exploring was out of the question if I wanted to live. Out of pure panic, I scrambled to punch the ground and threw together a rough, cramped safe house made entirely out of dirt just to survive the first dark hours.

It took me two full agonizing days just to scavenge enough wool from the surrounding areas to finally craft a bed. I knew I couldn’t stay there. I gathered some red and brown mushrooms, chopped down a few logs for supplies, crafted a boat, and just left. I pushed off into the river lines, looking for any kind of flat land.
🌿 Entry 2: The Jungle Sanctuary
After paddling down the riverways for a bit, the dark swamp trees gave way to a massive, vibrant green biome. I found myself at the edge of a jungle. Right away, I spotted pandas rolling around and ocelots darting through the brush. I remembered seeing in a video that there are two specific achievements tied to them, so I knew this had to be the place.
The land wasn't perfectly flat, so I spent hours clearing out the area, chopping down dozens of thick jungle trees.

I dug down into the stone layers underneath me, using the cobblestone to upgrade my home from wood to a sturdy stone house. Later on, a wandering trader passed through and left behind a lead. I grabbed it, shoveled out the surrounding dirt, put up fences, and leashed up a pair of pigs, sheep, cows, and a chicken. To keep them completely safe from creepers, I dug a 3-block-deep pit and pushed them all in.

🪜 Entry 3: The Corner Camp
Right near the edge of my new base perimeter, I stumbled upon a massive cave entrance. It was incredibly steep—just a sharp drop down into the pitch black. Knowing how dangerous it would be to climb back up every time, I built a tactical little sub-base shelter right on the corner of the cave entrance. I put a bed and some chests in there to store my extra extracts and act as a forward respawn point.

Then, the cave diving began. It was chaos—so many sharp turns, splitting ways, and sudden falls. Halfway down, I managed to gather enough iron veins to return to the surface, make a water bucket, and start smelting. I even set up a small farm with a 2x2 infinite water pool right at the center, planting some wheat and a few pumpkins I’d grabbed on my travels.

💎 Entry 4: The Path to Y= -35 and the Broken Shield
I went back into the deep. I squeezed through a very tiny, hidden entrance in the cave wall, and it led me down a winding, deep descent. My surface base sits at an altitude of around Y=72, but this cramped path twisted and turned until it led me nearly 80 blocks deeper into the crust, stopping right around Y= -35 inside the deepslate layers. And there they were: my very first 2 Diamonds.
But a dark cave dynamic was already waiting for me. I was suddenly ambushed by a zombie, a skeleton, and a spider all at the exact same time. I fought for my life, blocking arrows and slashes, but right as I struck down the final monster, a loud snap echoed—my shield completely broke.
To make matters worse, a peaceful Enderman lurking nearby suddenly triggered and charged straight at me. Weaponless against his reach, I sprinted frantically toward a nearby pool of water, but it wasn't wide or deep enough to keep him back. He teleported through it, closed the gap, and killed me.
I woke up gasping for air all the way back at my sub-base at the cave mouth. Without thinking, I sprinted all the way back down the long path to the Y= -35 depth, managed to find my death spot, and recovered every single bit of my leftover gear. Luckily, I already had my full iron armor equipped because of all the iron I had gathered halfway down the cave earlier.
🕯️ Entry 5: The Lit Path & The Next Phase
Leaving a trail of hundreds of torches and copper torches illuminating the long, twisted path all the way down behind me during my expedition, I pushed a little further into the dark before heading back to the surface. To my surprise, the cave split into a massive Abandoned Mineshaft on one side, and a breathtaking Lush Cave covered in glowing berries on the other.

Before heading out, I harvested some dripstone and scooped up a bucket of source lava. Back at the base, I used them to build an infinite lava pool setup right inside my newly built underground forge, which now runs both blast and normal furnaces completely free.

Tier 1 and Tier 2 are officially crushed. Now that my gear is sorted and my fuel is infinite, my next journal log will focus entirely on Phase 2: Farming & Exploration. I'm going to turn this jungle camp into a massive agricultural fortress, map out 9 adjacent regions in the map room, and finally figure out how to trigger those unique Panda and Ocelot achievements lurking right outside my front door.
